Children's Corner

Concern for children has been in the heart of Fellowship of the Least Coin since the early beginning of the prayer movement. In fact, the first FLC Grant went to buy an orphanage in Korea in 1959 in order to provide orphaned children a safe home where they could be provided by adults with love and security. In the following years there have been projects for children supported by FLC prayers and least coins.

In 2012, the ICFLC decided to welcome children to FLC not only as recipients, but also as partners. The ICFLC has produced a book for children entitled, Shanti Means Peace, written by Anna Hanson Bedford. Anna said “We want our children and grandchildren, nieces and nephews (and I am not just talking of family members—I also include all children in the community) to know how Shanti Solomon’s simple idea of praying and sharing has radiated peace and justice around the world. So the book contains many ways for passing on to children the gift of fellowship and service you have received.” Anna also prepared activities which are in this Children’s Corner.

As Jesus said, “Whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes not me but the one who sent me.” Mark 9:37
